Rush

During Rush, ADT really pulls together to put on a stunning show. Ask any freshman girl who goes through rush about the "A Chorus Line" skit, and you'll know how much we love to ham it up for the freshmen rushees.

Pre-Rush

This year's pre-rush activities, all dry events, of course, included:

Around the World as Germany with the five other Sewanee sororities

ADT Chocolate Party at the Women's Center

ADT Mad Hatter's Tea Party at the Wheat House

Rush

Every sorority has two nights of Formal House Visits in which they perform a skit for the freshmen rushees. The ADT skit is an adaptation of "A Chorus Line." Thankfully we have members of the choir in our sorority every year to cover up for those of us who can't sing! After the Formal House Visits, the freshmen return to at least three sororities for Return House Visits. For each visit, the sorority members spend much time making food and preparing decorations. Often we are just as nervous as the freshmen are, especially since we have to perform a skit in front of them. It's all part of the fun of being an ADT!

Bid Sessions

Bid Sessions occur after the night of Return House Visits. In a long, methodical process in which every sorority member has an opportunity to speak, the sorority as a whole decides upon this year's pledge class. Prejudices and unkind remarks are never tolerated at bid sessions. The night is long, but many ADTs will tell you, it is one of the moments when the sorority is closest.
