During pledgeship, pledges wear "pledge beads." While some people on campus may think these beads to be silly or even cruel, they serve an important purpose in pledeship. First, it allows active sorority members to be able to identify their pledges. This is especially useful when an active has been abroad or simply doesn't know very many freshmen. Second, "pledge beads" allow the entire campus to identify our pledges as ADTs. Our pledges wear their necklaces with pride.

Another important way for pledges to get to know actives is by sitting at the ADT table in Gailor. Instead of a house, our sorority uses our table for socializing. Sharing meals with pledges can often lead to new friendships!
The sorority also has "in-rooms" where pledges are taken out for various activities. Some of these activities include seeing a play or a movie, playing "Bigger or Better" (a trading game), or simply hanging out with actives at Pop's Happyland Truck Stop. Actives and pledges can get to know each other during this pledgeship; however, they also develop strong bonds with their pledge sisters, both during these activities and during pledge meetings with their pledge trainer.
